BelFone built a communication dispatching system without any blind areas for the Prison Administration

The Background

Anhui Jiucheng Prison Management Bureau has 24 functional departments, across 45 prisons, including Huanghu Prison, Menghu Prison, Dongjiao Lake Prison and Bohu Prison. The work environment of prisons is complex. Staff from different departments and districts communicate daily both within the team and with members from other teams. The complicated organizational structure calls for a powerful radio communication system, one that is both safe and efficient.

The Challenge

1) The confidentiality level of traditional radio communication systems is too low to guarantee the communication security of prisons;
2) These prisons occupy too large an area, which makes 100% radio coverage very challenging. There are certain dead zones. 
3) The many functional departments all have their specific communication needs. They need a solution that will enable different groups to communicate seamlessly and independently, a solution that supports both in-group communications and cross-group cooperation. Such features as Talk Priority, Individual Call, Group Call, All Call and Emergency Alert are required. 

4) In case of emergency, the solution should be able to respond fast and facilitate command and dispatch.

The Solution

In view of the practical communication needs of the prisons and their current PDT system, BelFone designed a DMR/PDT radio system with rich command & dispatch features that deliver smooth, instant communications. The system network covers the whole prison areas, leaving no blind spots.

Advanced Encryptions

It goes without saying that prisons have very strict requirements on confidentiality. Their communications can’t be monitored. BF-TD880 integrates multiple DMR voice encryption technologies such as RC4, making sure that all calls are encrypted. Your state secret is safe with BF-TD880. Whatever messages exchanged in the prison remain in the prison.

Extensive Coverage

Both the locations and structures of prisons are prone to dead zones, and radio terminals alone can’t provide the needed coverage. Therefore, we deploy a couple of high-power UV dual band repeaters further to extend the communication range. These repeaters are powerful and flexible; easy to deploy and easy to maintain.

Increased Channel

Capacity Each of the many functional departments will require a channel of their own, and there will have to be at least as many channels available. Besides, the system needs to support such features as Call Priority and Emergency Call, to enable users to respond efficiently to emergencies. And let’s not forget about cross-department cooperation. BF-TR8500 dual band high power repeater (with IP connect) increases channel capacity with TDMA technology, greatly improving frequency efficiency and effectively facilitating communications for daily operations as well as emergency response.
