What effect can the wireless signals on people?
release date:2025-06-28
The current mainstream view in the scientific community is that the risk of wireless signal radiation to human health under normal use is low, but it needs to be objectively analyzed in terms of the type of radiation, the mechanism of action, scientific evidence and actual exposure scenarios. Wireless transmission signals are mainly propagated through radio frequency electromagnetic fields, and common sources include cell phones, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, base stations, microwave ovens, etc. The radiation characteristics are determined by frequency and power, and the intensity is usually measured by the “specific absorption rate”, e.g., the specific absorption rate of a cell phone is usually lower than 2W/kg, and the corresponding safety limits have been set by various countries. For example, in China, the power density of electromagnetic radiation to which the public is exposed does not exceed 40 μW/cm², which is well below the threshold for possible thermal effects.
From the perspective of exposure risk in daily life, the radiation intensity of cell phones, Wi-Fi and other devices will be greatly attenuated when they are far away from the human body, the radiation from base stations is far away from residential areas, the actual power density of exposure is also far lower than the safety standard, and the radiation leakage from the normal use of microwave ovens is also extremely low. Based on this, the risk can be reduced by reducing close contact (e.g., using headphones, staying away from running equipment), controlling the duration of use, and choosing low-radiation equipment, etc. Pregnant women and children, although there is no clear evidence of risk, can also moderately reduce unnecessary exposure.
Overall, there is not enough evidence that daily wireless signals will cause significant harm to the human body, the risk of high-intensity radiation in daily life is relatively rare, the public should maintain a rational cognition, take reasonable precautions, while paying attention to the latest research progress of authoritative institutions, do not have to be overly panicked because of inaccurate information, after all, the convenience brought by the wireless technology is far greater than the potential risks.
